The printing industry is a big user of chemicals, some of which are known as VOCs - volatile organic compounds, which evaporate very easily and contribute to a number of environmental issues. Some of the chemicals used in the industry are linked to health problems such as asthma, to climate change, to water pollution and damage to the ozone layer.
Obviously our industry is only one of many using such chemicals, but we are a big industry and therefore small changes in the way we work can make a very worthwhile contribution. This section will look a number of things printers can do to help - from minor changes in the way you work to bigger projects that will require more investment of time and cost in order to reap the rewards.
